Lord of the Flies
by William Golding

There are many things that can happen to each of the boys on this island. I think that Ralph will create his own "tribal" group separating from Jack's "hunting" group. It seems to me that Ralph is the more logical one. He is serious about shelter, and when he thought he spotted smoke (from a ship) he wanted to make sure that the mountain was giving off smoke too, so they could be spotted. So I believe that his group will have Piggy, Maurice, and Simon. They will all be followers of Ralph and continue using their brains and think up ideas that will help their further rescue AND still have their own leisure time. As for Jack's "hunting" group, I predict that they will hunt more and maybe get injured. I think that The twins (samneric) and the other rebellious children will follow him with hunting and becoming "rebellious." Since they only like having fun and don't think about shelter or being rescued, their future will consist of unsteadiness and times of worry.

If good was rewarded and evil punished...Each of the characters contain personalities that would determine their stand in this system of rewards and punishments. Ralph would fall in the "good" category because he has sensible ideas that only help the children on the island and therefore be rewarded with comfort or safety. I think Jack would fall in the "evil" category because he makes impulsive decisions and does not think of consequences. Maybe later in the future he will get eaten by a pig or hurt by a "creature" living in the island. Or even worse, his tribal group would backfire on him because of ignorant ideas. (? Just maybe.) Piggy would fall under the "good" category for sure. His continuous want to help the tribe is obvious but it is also ignored. He is a loyal "partner" to Ralph and his intelligence would probably help later on. Simon and Maurice would most likely fall under the "good" category. Being followers of Ralph gives them the automatic "good" because Ralph is only trying to lead for the better. In addition, Simon was the only littlun how helped Ralph build the huts. Finally, the twins (Samneric) I think would go under "bad" because under the influence of Jack, they will become wild and hunt all the time.

I identify myself with Ralph the best. Only because Ralph likes to take things in his command and is very logical. Although I am not the most logical and sensible person at times, when times get desperate I will try my best to think of solutions. Ralph is pretty calm too, which I can relate to.

I agreed with most of the points you made in this blog, but I did disagree with a few things. I dont beleive that Maruice would fall under the good category because he helped Roger destroy those sand castles the littluns were making, and I believe he is slightly more of a follower of Jack. I agree with your points on the twins and piggy, but I don't believe that good will be rewarded and evil will be punished in the way you described.I think that it will most likely be injuries and deaths equal on both sides. Other than some grammatical errors, this was good.
